Lawrenceville Ga Post Card

My latest eBay find. Since I live in Lawrenceville, I am very interested in Lawrenceville post cards as well as Greenville. This one is unmailed circa 1910. A very rare card in excellent condition!

2007 Mettler "Epicenter" Old Vine Lodi Zinfandel Tasting Notes

High neck fill. Deep purple in glass - virtually opaque. Lovely, promising nose. Incredible depth of fruit on palate with hints of oak. Thick chocolatey fruit on palate. No heat despite 15.6% alcohol. No overripe or sweet fruit evident. A muscular, broad shouldered Zin. Can hold for 4 or 5 years at least. Enormous! 93/100.

For the past few days I have noticed a few birds flying around in the garage, but never thought much of it till this morning when I noticed this nest on a shelf in the garage. The egg appears to be that of a house wren.

1999 Ridge Geyserville Tasting Notes

68% Zinfandel, 16% Carignane, 16% Petite Sirah. Mid neck fill. Cork broke on extraction. Deep garnet color with obvious bricking. Oxidation evident in bouquet and palate. Still good fruit and dusty tannins. Not at all hot despite 14.8% alcohol. Film of sediment inside bottle. Making old bones but needs to be consumed. 88/100.

Still has original $29.99 price tag. Mid neck fill. Cork broke during extraction. A modest 13% alcohol. Deep garnet color with mahogany evident. On palate, slightly sweetish Shiraz fruit up front followed by dusty tannins. Fading fruit. Particles of sediment in empty bottle and final glass. Drink up! 87/100.

Its been extraordinarily warm here in Lawrenceville the past couple of weeks. The rain that hit Atlanta the other day never made it here.

1998 Peter Lehman Clancy's Tasting Notes

Mid neck fill. Cork disentegrated during extraction. Deep ruby color in glass with obvious browning. Soft fruit on palate with dusty tannins. Shiraz evident up front and hints of tobacco in finish.  Alcohol (14%) does not intrude. Fading slowly but still nice. Patches of sediment in bottle and in the final glass. Drink up! 87/100.

2007 Pride Viognier Tasting Notes

Deep gold color in glass. Lovely honeyed tropical fruit on palate. Good acidity. The key is there is just enough acidity to support the decadent tropical fruit. Really nice but needs to be drunk soon. 89/100.
