2006 Mettler "Epicenter" Old Vine Lodi Zinfandel Tasting Notes

Voted the favorite Zin of the evening at a recent Zinfandel tasting, which included Turley, Ridge, and Rosenblum. Deep garnet color. Intense, chocolatey nose. Full bodied with tons of fruit on palate and lots of extract. 15.5% alchohol slightly evident. Not sweet or overripe at all. A massive wine that needs 3-5 years to open up but should hold 5 more. If you must drink it now let it breathe for a couple hours. Paid $17.99 here in Atlanta. Great PQR! Score 91/100.
